In 2013, Passenger’s life changed with the release of “All The Little Lights,” featuring the global phenomenon “Let Her Go.” Now, as a celebration of the journey before, during, and after this era, Mike Rosenberg is set to release the “All The Little Lights (Anniversary Edition)” in November 2023.
The album marked a turning point in Mike’s career, distinguishing it into two phases — before and after “Let Her Go.” With roots in busking, writing, and touring, Mike reflects on the incredible adventure that inspired the original songs.
From humble beginnings in Brighton to busking around the UK, Mike faced rejection and uncertainty in the industry. However, a stripped-back approach and the discovery of his love for busking led to a breakthrough, setting the stage for his musical evolution.
Fast forward to 2011, Mike found a musical cohort in producer Chris Vallejo at Linear Recording in Sydney. Together, they created “All The Little Lights,” with the standout track “Let Her Go” becoming a global phenomenon, amassing billions of streams and numerous accolades.
In the decade since, Mike’s relentless work ethic has yielded nine studio albums and sold-out tours worldwide. Now, he embarks on a new chapter with the “Anniversary Edition,” re-recording and re-imagining the entire album. Collaborating with Foy Vance, Gabrielle Aplin, Nina Nesbitt, and Ed Sheeran, Mike preserves the original spirit while infusing a new decade of experience.
“I love the original recordings of these songs, and I know they mean a lot to my fanbase. I don’t want to replace them; I just found the idea of recreating them a decade later to be so exciting,” Mike shares. With 14 albums under his belt, he brings a refined understanding of studio craft and vocal performance to this dream collaboration.
“All The Little Lights (Anniversary Edition)” promises to be musically richer, vocally stronger, and shimmering with bold beauty, showcasing the timeless brilliance of Passenger’s well-loved classics. As Mike readies to unveil this special edition, fans can expect a journey that not only honors the past but also illuminates the future of Passenger’s extraordinary musical legacy.
