About This Project

Malou Lovis manages, with her gentle yet powerful voice, to convey emotions incredibly well. Combined with her down-to-earth and likeable personality, it’s easy to take her and her music into your heart right away. On March 7, 2025, she released her debut album “things i wrote down last night” and then went on a European tour with Tokio Hotel.

The singer-songwriter spent her youth in a small village in the Münsterland region: in a house with a garden full of instruments, with three siblings and “very cool” parents, the 25-year-old says. When Malou paused her social work studies in Cologne for a few months to travel through Spain with her guitar—writing songs there and meeting other musicians—she realized she couldn’t imagine doing anything else with her life. Back in Germany, she spontaneously decided to apply for The Voice of German. On the show, Malou Lovis managed to win over not only her coaches Bill and Tom Kaulitz but also the audience with her calm yet open manner and her warm, emotional voice. James Blunt performed his song “All The Love That I Ever Needed” with her as a duet, and the Kaulitz twins asked Malou live on camera to accompany Tokio Hotel as a support act on their next tour (2025). In the show’s finale, she performed her debut single “Glacier Rivers,” which she co-wrote. In the song, she addressed her coming out, sending a clear message against homophobia and anti-queerness—something she says she would have wished to see on TV herself as a teenager.

After winning The Voice of Germany, the singer and songwriter appeared on major TV broadcasts, including the New Year’s Eve celebration at the Brandenburg Gate (in front of 65,000 people) and the popular TV show Schlag den Star. In her hometown, she suddenly became a local celebrity, recognized on the street and in the supermarket, and invited to the town hall by the mayor. Bill and Tom not only kept their promise regarding the tour but also invited Malou to their live podcast event Kaulitz Hills at Hamburg’s Barclays Arena in summer 2024. In March 2025, her debut album “things i wrote down last night” was released – eleven songs about self-discovery, loss, love, societal expectations, and empowerment, serving as a very successful first musical greeting from an exciting young talent to the music industry.

In October 2025, Malou Lovis played her first own headliner tour and released the single “One More Day” together with Tokio Hotel.

Malou wrote One More Day for the soundtrack of the new adaptation of “Momo”—a story that deeply influenced her childhood. The song is an emotional milestone as well as a musical statement about time, transience, and human connection.
