One of the most exciting new voices in German indie pop can currently be found on a farm in the Altmark region of Saxony-Anhalt: Fritz Speck. Alongside his label Embassy of Music, star producer Daniel Schaub (Casper, Paula Hartmann) has also taken notice of his musical talent. Fritz Speck combines his voluminous, sometimes scratchy, and raw baritone—one you simply can’t get enough of—with an incredible sensitivity for the emotional depth of his songs.

His music invites us into his world: his songs are sometimes melancholic, sometimes driving—but always laced with a touch of irony in the lyrics. Blending electronic and acoustic indie pop sounds, he explores themes of disorientation, self-discovery, longing, and letting go. We’re curious to see if—and when—Fritz will eventually be drawn to the big city of his choice, a place his music already seems to belong to.
