Marie Bothmer activates the “Delulu alert”: With her new single “Delusional”, the singer takes a humorous jab at toxic masculinity – while also announcing her long-awaited debut album “Geb dir alles, stimmt so”, set for release on June 6.

German pop artist Marie Bothmer has had enough of entitled bros and boys’ clubs. With her new single “Delusional” (out April 11, 2025), the Berlin-based singer makes a bold statement against toxic masculinity in the workplace. Following previous singles “Taxi Driver,” “Raketendicht,” and “Übernächtigt,” “Delusional” offers another glimpse into her much-anticipated debut album “Geb dir alles, stimmt so”, which she officially announces for release on June 6, 2025 via Embassy of Music.

With sharp lines like “You buried reality. And I think it’s kinda dangerous that someone like you is a CEO – or worse,” Bothmer strikes a nerve, exposing just how delusional and disconnected from reality some men in powerful positions can be when they’re armed with privilege and lack any real self-awareness.

“I wrote the song after a rough experience dealing with a wall of men in a professional setting,” Bothmer explains.
“It was frustrating, so I had to let off steam somehow. While doing that, more and more personal and professional situations came back to me – and they all flowed into the song. It’s definitely a venting track, but it’s okay to take it with a grain of irony. That’s still my best coping mechanism.”

“Delusional” once again showcases Bothmer’s ability to channel socially relevant themes into catchy pop music. Driven by a grime-inspired beat with syncopated breaks and underpinned by a glissando-style bassline, the track is laced with synth textures that could’ve come straight out of a Timbaland production. Floating above it all is Marie Bothmer’s unmistakable, effortless vocal delivery – not melancholic this time (as in her bittersweet poetic take on situationships in “Taxi Driver”), but sharp, cheeky, and confrontational, much like her banger “Bothmer Schloss.”

With the release of her debut album “Geb dir alles, stimmt so” just around the corner on June 6, Marie Bothmer is finally ready to showcase her songwriting prowess and musical range to a wider audience – and especially to her fans.
