Over the past few years, Sing meinen Song – Das Tauschkonzert has become a true TV cult phenomenon. Starting April 23, 2024, the show will return, airing every Tuesday at primetime on VOX. The heart of the show’s success lies in the emotional and surprising reinterpretations of well-known songs, alongside the interpersonal connections. The new song versions will be available on popular streaming platforms immediately after the broadcast. Additionally, the show’s accompanying album, “Sing meinen Song – Das Tauschkonzert Vol. 11,” will be released on May 17, 2024. This album will be available as a digital album (Embassy of Music/Zebralution Music) and a deluxe digipack featuring 44 song exchanges and eight duets across three CDs (Embassy of Music/Tonpool), along with an intricately designed booklet. For the first time, the duets will also be available on vinyl.

This year, pop singer and songwriter Johannes Oerding will host the award-winning show for the fourth consecutive time. Before taking on the role of show host in the 8th season, he had already participated as a contestant. “We have never been so diverse in terms of genres,” the host said about season 11. “We all had to leave our comfort zones and engage with music we might never have listened to before. But I always come to the same conclusion: those who embrace it […] gain a lot.”

In this year’s edition, all participants, except for show host Oerding, are making their debut on the show and will experience another first together in 2024: “Juli” frontwoman Eva Briegel, soul singer Joy Denalane, rapper Eko Fresh, “Broilers” frontman Sammy Amara, pop singer and actor Emilio, and singer-songwriter Tim Bendzko. For one night, Peter Maffay will also join as a special guest, a first in the history of Sing meinen Song – Das Tauschkonzert. Before embarking on his farewell tour, host Johannes Oerding invited his good friend Maffay, giving him a special gift: “I had the honor of experiencing a song exchange evening with my songs four times as both host and participant on ‘Sing meinen Song.’ This year, I am passing that privilege to my good friend Peter Maffay. I get to host his evening and together we will reinterpret his greatest songs. A special evening for a special guest!”

Peter Maffay is visibly excited to be part of this musical experiment this year: “I am looking forward to an evening full of music and memories – and that in this circle of wonderful artists. I have not experienced this in my long career! This will be a premiere for me and I am delighted that they are taking me on their musical journey for one evening. I am curious to see how my songs will be transformed.”

Sing meinen Song – Das Tauschkonzert has been awarded the German Television Award (2014), the Bambi (2015), the ECHO (2015), and the Golden Camera (2018), and was also nominated for the Grimme Prize (2015). The VOX show is not only a success on television but also in the charts. The 16 albums released so far have achieved five platinum and six gold statuses and over 700 million streams. The most recent album from last year’s anniversary season alone garnered 100 million streams.
